Woman and 2 Police Officers Injured in Phoenix Collision

It is a known fact that car accidents happen to anyone and anywhere. According to the NHTSA national statistics in 2009, there is about 279,000 crashes and collision incident that resulted to injuries. Car crashes involving two vehicles occur more often than crashing to fixed objects or roadway signs. It makes up the 757,000 of the 2,534 total crash incidents in 2009 alone.

Last week at around 8:30 am, 2 Phoenix police officers were involved in a car collision at Thomas Road and 50th Drive.

The police officers were doing their patrol in the area when their vehicle collided with a car driven by an unknown woman. The Phoenix Police Department spokesman said that impairment is not a probable cause in the car collision and it is still under investigation.

The 2 police officers and the woman suffered non-fatal injuries but were taken to a near hospital for treatment.

Accidents happen where and whenever. It does not matter whether you are police officer or a regular citizen. And the rate of injuries from car accidents is increasing and we can decrease the severity of injuries to at least half by wearing a seat belt (National Safety Council. Thus, all road users practice safe and responsible driving. Drivers need to have a safe gap between the car and other vehicles. It is always recommended to maintain a constant allowable speed and keep your eyes on the road during driving.
