Staying Safe While Riding in Groups
Summer is the perfect time for the outdoors. For motorcycle enthusiasts, what better way to spend the season than to go out and ride with friends? But to make sure your group ride will be all fun and safe without any motorcycle accidents, there are a few tips you need to take note of.
First thing is to avoid unnecessary conversation with your group when riding. It is fun to ride with others but your focus and attention should always be on your task at hand which is driving. Keep your eyes on the road all of the time so as not to get distracted. Remember that distracted driving is one of the major factors in road accidents.
There are also formations your group can follow so as to give everyone adequate space. One of the basic formations is to ride in two lines which will give each rider a good amount of personal space. Also, keep your distance from the rider in front of you.
When travelling with a very large group, it would be safer to divide into smaller groups which are easier to manage and kept intact.
As always, riding and alcohol are a bad combination. Alcohol should be avoided every time a person is going to ride.
